CCTV Speciall Applications Example

Motion Sensor Spy Cam

Here us another example of a CCTV special applications camera

A motion sensor spy cam can be the perfect addition to your existing alarm system. Just about every alarm system uses a motion sensor to detect a break in.

Unfortunately by the time the police show up, a burglar can get away. That’s where a motion sensor spy cam comes in. Not only will the alarm system notify the police but it will give you the video evidence to prosecute.

There are 2 types of motion sensor spy cams, one is functioning and the other is not. This means whether the spy cam is put inside a dummy housing or a real alarm motion sensor.

I recommend getting the fully functioning type. This is because an alarm system uses 12 volt power. As it happens spy cams use 12 volt as well. So instead of running a coax cable and a separate power wire you only have to run the coax to your recording device.

The recording device will have some inputs on the back that you need to hook up. You’ll see some markings that read N/O or N/C. This stands for normally open contact and normally closed contact

Put your alarm wire in the N/O spot. A motion sensor is a normally open device. ( Don’t worry about the tech stuff). Now when the motion sensor is tripped the spy cam will start the recorder.
The best place to install the motion detector spy cam is in the corner of the room. You can view the entire room from this position.
